Somatics for
Cerebral Nerds

5 things to know about feeling into your body
somatics is just paying attention to the body from the inside. no woo required. here's the nerd version.
The Protocol · 5 steps
1
Interoception is a real sense
the felt sense of your insides is a perceptual channel, like sight or hearing. most of us have it turned down.
2
Feelings have a location
anxiety isn't abstract. it's a tight chest, a clenched jaw, a churning gut. find where it lives.
3
Sensation moves if you let it
emotions are energy in motion. blocked, they stick. attended to, they tend to pass through.
4
Slower input, clearer signal
when you slow the breath and the body, the quiet signals get loud enough to read.
5
It's a trainable skill
the more you check in, the higher-resolution the signal gets. reps build the sense.
Run it: close your eyes. where in your body is there the most sensation right now? don't fix it. just find it.
“the body is always talking. somatics is just learning to listen without needing subtitles.”
TL;DR   interoception is a sense → feelings have a location → sensation moves → slow to hear it → reps train it
